You and Matthew had began meeting each other again after that as good friends. You had gotten a new, and better job; and after about two months, he asked you out, and you of course said yes. You had been together for nearly a year, actually, yes a year! Today was your one year anniversary. You woke up with him hovering above you with breakfast, smiling and blushing. You smiled as he leaned down to give it to you. Pancakes and Maple Syrup. You should have know. You laughed inside as you two ate.

Later that afternoon, you two drove to the beach. You smiled as Matthew drove towards it, and when you two arrived. You swam with him and splashed him like a little kid, you played beach volleyball. Everything was perfect.

Matthew's POV

Matthew smiled as he spent the afternoon with her, but was really on his mind was the ring that sat in his suitcase back at your beach cabin. He smiled to himself, but he was also worried. You would say yes, right?

The day went on until finally the sun started to set. Matthew excused himself to get some drinks from the cabin, but when he returned he didn't have drinks. Instead, he had his hands behind his back and was looking at the ground. You didn't see him stuff something into his pocket though. You smiled as he took your hand and explained he couldn't find your favourite, so he didn't want one as well. He led you to the campfire that lay on the beach. Nobody else was there, and the only sound was the waves and the crackling fire. He sat you down then got out in front of you, going down on one knee and retrieving the object from his pocket. He took a deep breath,
